Hello all,

I would like to inform you that I just joined the G503.
I am Rens from the Netherlands and at the end of this week I wil be collecting 1942 Ford GPW 51198. This vehicle was carefully, and partially, restored by a member of the G503; DutchGPW.
Gideon did really a splendid job taking care of this war veteran up to a rolling chassis. I wil be taking over the car and the restauration.
I restored 2 jeeps before ; starting with a Hotchkiss M201 many years ago and after a few years I restored a 1942 GPW.
At the time I am finishing a ground up project of a Dodge WC58 (the General Duck). Only minor works seperates me from the finalisation .
So, ia am hugely looking forward to start the new jeep project !
Again I would like to compliment Gideon for his nice work and many thanks to him !

Nice Command Car; not sure why anyone would ever want a toy jeep when he has a Dodge, a real vehicle.

Oke guy’s, it has been a while..
But we are getting there !
Dodge wil be viewed by Lucien v Roelen previously to having it’s title somewhere in Jan 22.
The gpw’s engine , gearbox and transferbox are alomost ready after a complete overhaul.

Engine block is a post war willys block.
It is bored and honed. Crankshaft has also been machined.
New bearings, pistons and rings.
We installed a ww2 ford head.
Engine will be started upcoming weekend.

my friend and i are in the process of restoring a 43 march produced gpw and its a very interesting learning curve!!!!
our plan is to take her to normandy first and then to Arnhem/Oosterbeek, good luck and Bedankt for your post!!! Andy
