539S Metering Rod Install?
Is it possible to reinstall the carb metering rod without removing or loosening the pin on which it goes-without bending the rod? Can someone explain exactly how to accomplish?

Generally, the metering rod stays connected to the bowl cover assembly and all the linkages when you remove and install the cover. If you assemble the rod with the cover off, then you don't need to worry about bending it (Which would be a Bad Thing)

Yes you can. You need to open the throttle fully so the pin is as high as possible then it will go down into the float bowl with a bit of a wriggle. Make sure you put the spring back onto the rod and make sure that the spring leg is pushing the rod down with the throttle in the closed position.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses. I had noticed that the little washer that goes on the metering rod above the bowl cover is MIA. The little bastid.
