Mostly 18 Gauge, except for wheel housings, they are a bit thinner, 20 Gauge.

What's that in millimeters or inches? These gauge numbers are very confusing.

Good luck!

I use only 16 gauge for replacement panels, repairs, etc. Why? It is enough thicker than 18 ga to be much easier to weld to the original metal in butt joints but not enough thicker for anyone to know.
Works for me.

You can use a Micrometer to measure a known original sheet metal item such as along the edge of a fender, dash board, etc.. I have NOS Willys Fenders I can check, the paint will be a minor factor and I can go to my sheet metal charts. Not able to do so today or tomorrow tho.
I do not have any metric micrometers .

Thanks Boyso and Jos. I'm sure the thicknesses mentioned in Jeepdraw are right for the jeep, but on the internet I found other thicknesses for standard sheet steel:

20 Gauge = 0.0359" (Standard Steel); 0.0375" (US Standard Gauge)

18 Gauge = 0.0478" (Standard Steel); 0.0500" (US Standard Gauge)

So I still think these Gauge systems are very confusing.

In original Ford drawings I found gauge numbers corresponding to sheet thicknesses that differ (slightly) from those given in the JeepDraw table:

Drawing GPW1127846 / GPW1127847 PANEL-BODY SIDE: ...#18 USS.GA.(.0478)...; JeepDraw table says 0.0490";

Drawing GPW16083 APRON-FRONT FENDER/SPLASH_LH: ...#20 USS.GA.(.0359)...; JeepDraw table says 0.0368".
