T-84 gearbox and Transfer case are now ready to be installed.
All are GPW and original of the car. The transfer case is dated January 1945.

Salut Bertrand,
I guess you must have for a '45 Jeep, a second model handbranke drum, internal type ?
I don't know for Ford, but Internal type was introduced on Willys on 09/44.

Salut Florent

I assume you're right. A friend of mine who owns a MB of january 45 has the internal handbrake.
But theses parts (gear and tranfer cases, handbrake external drum) are original from my GPW. Transfer case is dated january 45.
Despite of the introducing of a new type, at mid-january 45, Dallas Ford plant still equipped their jeeps with the firt type, maybe until shortage of stock.

Eye candy!

Just for the records, it is widely accepted that Ford never used the second type handbrake, and never produced the parts, even if the drawings exist.

There is an unexplainable mistake on almost all big French dealers websites, they call the late one « Ford/Hotchkiss » and the early one « Willys », which is of course totally wrong!

Thanks Fabrizio !

Currently working on the steering gear.
The klaxon wire had been cut for years and the contact plug gone, but the rest was overall good.

I have made some great progress these last days.
I aim to restart the engine soon.

Engine, gear and transfercase, clutch assembly, Autolite generator and starter, have been reinstalled on the frame.
Propeller shafts too.

Here you are a summary of these works :

Hello

here is my weekly works report. I worked mostly to the engine.

Before starting to install parts of the engine's left side, I thought it would be easier to position first the front fuel hose and the oïl hoses.
And of course not forgetting their clips. The fuel line clip has taken some time !
