The French made panels are far better than MDJ ones. The holes should be in the right place and of the right size.

Finally
Two years after I finished the body, I managed to fix the frame.
The frame was more or less strait, with only surface rust.
The main thing was to straighten the frame horns and the rear corssmember.
I also changed the spring pivot eye brackets and the spring shackle bracket busing insert.
Because I found a lot back primer on the body, I decided to use black primer again.

Excellent work !

Can you please post a few words about rivet gun specs and how was to work with it.
I still have to install rivets on my frame, and I think I will have to buy that tool too.

Good luck with continuation of work.

dfast

This is the way I did my riveting tools
There are many other ways to do your tools. My system is far from any professional tool but for only twelve rivets it worked fine.

Great, this is real "How to" manual.
So actually is is going in two steps, conical shape first and then in final rounded rivet shape.

Thank you,

For me it works better to do it in two steps.

If you do the whole process in one step, it can be that you hammer the rivet shaft to one side.
So the rivet head can be off the axes.
This happened to me when I did some test rivets.

After almost one year I found the way back to my workshop!
I took my son with me. He had fun, at least for 30 minutes! :) :)

Sounds like you need to get rid of the 'ol tub.

And, I'm not talking about the GPW.

Thanks for your kind words Randall

In this forum are so many people who are doing great work. This inspires. For example I like the bodywork you have done on your GPW or how good your regulator looked after cleaning.

Regards, Kurt
