Howdy Guys,

I figured I'd finally get around to posting a project topic for my jeep. Everyone seems to enjoy looking at the progress others have made in ongoing restoration, I know I do. So I'll post from start in November 2009 to now.

November 2009

We really white-trashed the motor out. 4 guys and two tow straps hoisted that baby out...

Lots of things are waiting in boxes and crates waiting to be restored. Body tub is behind the shop at work under cover. Carb is done and beautiful (Thanks to Dave Morganthall). Also finished is the air filter cleaner, fuel pump, stamped pintle and a few other odds and ends. Still working on that rolling chassis, hopefully by the end of the summer. Trying to work out springs and transmission at the moment, I think those may be close to solved though thanks to Richard Oberstar and Lee Potter. I appreciate everyones help so far here on the G!

Guys I couldn't have made it this far without: (in no particular order)
Jimmy Brinkley
Dave Morganthall
Dave Morganthall Jr
Corey Helweg
Howard Nash
Trey Moore
Gary Turman
John Zollinger

If I forgot anyone just yell at me and make me feel bad! Thanks!

Is Jimmy in the North Houston area? I talked with Howard Nash and he lives up by me. Any one else live up around Howard? I have bought a GPW and am looking for folks closer to me that are enthusiasts.

Is the electrical system still 6 volt or has it been converted to 12?

I live in Bryan/ College Station and go to school at A&M. I'm about an hour from Howard in Conroe, an hour and 15 min from Jimmy in Spring and 15 minutes from John Zollinger here in CS. Jeep and MV nuts are everywhere. We seem to have a nice little niche though! Shout at me.

Well, three years later and I finally have a rolling chassis! It's all downhill from here!
