QUESTION RE: PAINT BRITISH JEEP

Post by mbwlc » Fri Jul 06, 2018 7:13 am

Hello,
Can anybody please identify what is the name (code) for a British green paint from 50s/60s which was used on a British made Triang pedal jeep?
Can you tell me what is the closest paint match available here in the US?
Thanks for your help,
mbwlc

Thanks for your responses.

What do you think about this 1965 Land Rover bronze green paint?

I think most land rovers were that colour when they came out, i look upon the Land Rover as an imitation jeep, thats my opinion though. They made them only a few miles away from where i live.

I had one of those, identical. I 've got a couple of the grown up ones now, but I remember my old pedal 'Jeepy-Landrover' with great affection.

The LRC001 Land Rover Bronze Green paint is a very close match. I will use it on my Triang pedal jeep restoration.

Thanks you,

I also bought one of those for my Son in 1970 (!) which I painted to match my MB Jeep, late war OD.
However, much more information is now available See:-http://www.warwheels.net/images/British ... liott1.pdf
I later discovered BS 298 Olive Drab was the favoured colour for early post-war vehicles, and would appear to match your Triang Jeep.
Personally, I prefer a silk finish as it weathers far better than the Matt/Drab, and has better protection for the metal
