thanks - planning on bringing at leas the 40mm Bofors gun to let the kids sit in the seats and train the gun at flying airplanes!!!! LOL Did that five years ago at the Kirtland AFB open house and the little kids buts wore all the paint off the carriage bolts on the seat pans - literally 400-500 (maybe more?) of them tried their hands on the az-el cranks - good entertainment and.....best part: the az-el mechanisms were tight and hard to turn after our R&R....we greased everything up well and the work the kids did got everything freed up and working smoooooth!!!! Hidden payback 8)

The dates in the last Newsletter were incorrect, they were changed after our meeting with the 49er resort in late October. The latest dates are the ones posted here, April 28 thru May 2nd, 2021.

If you attended the April meet in 2019 or were registered for a space at the April 2020 you don't need to do anything. We are working on moving everything over to the April 2021 dates and will notify you after January 1st when it's OK to contact the 49er and make your space payment. If you were in the fairgrounds dry camp area you will still be making your space payment directly to the MVCC, again after January 1st.

If you are a new member and/or planning on coming for the first time there will be a registration application in the next MVCC Newsletter and it will be available for download from the MVCC website at www.mvccnews.net.

Many people arrive Tuesday to set up camp and sales tables if they have them, then watch the buildup. Wednesdays are busy. Our group discount at the 49er RV Village is good for several days before and after our dates and some show up Sunday or Monday. Sunday May 2 is a pull out day, not a good show day.

This event is open to anybody, it's not just a MVCC member event. All MVs are welcome, any condition or country of origin. It is the continuation of the Spring meet that started with the Patterson Rally, it moved to Big Bear Park in Waterford, then to Tower Park Resort. 13 years at each venue. Then went to Petaluma for two years after the owners of Tower Park shrunk the number of sites and built too many cabins. Then we went to Petaluma KOA for two years which was bad for visitors, then did the deals in Plymouth with the RV resort and fairgrounds for 2019. It checks nearly all boxes and is in a scenic tourist area great for MV driving. For once we have great visitor parking.

A few important facts: no vending except in paid campsites at 49er and at Amador County Fairgrounds right across the fence. There is a foot path between the two sides of the event. Day visitors get free admission, and free parking is at the fairgrounds with gate at 18400 Empire Street in Plymouth. Assume no visitor parking at the 49er RV Village. The arena where we have MV showcases and the fairgrounds camping area is next to the parking lot. Probably there will be marked parking/display spots at the fairgrounds for MVs driven to and from home or hotel. I mean not in the visitor lot.

This is an excellent area for people who like to visit wineries. There are over 40 in the county, most near Plymouth. The historic old west, gold rush towns along Highway 49 feature dozens of antique stores and there are other tourist stops.
