Canadian Water Cans
Any idea what they're worth? These are the small square ones.

Re: Canadian Water Cans
Hi Tim, with the 2 (imperial) gallon POW cans it all depends on condition, paintwork and original stencilling. Pictures would be useful. Generally a good condition wartime one with original paint sells between 50 and 100 euro's over here. Has much to do with the fact that the Dutch were liberated by the Canadians for a large part of the country. No idea what US prices will be.

Re: Canadian Water Cans
Tim,
I don't believe either of those to be Canadian. Neither has the C with the broad arrow. Instead the first has a D arrow D that is the Australian marking, the second is marked Valor on the bottom, that was a British maker, as the date isn't on the bottom it is likely stamped into the handle. It is possibly WW1 and worth upwards of $100, not sure on the Aussie one here in the US. Maybe close to the same.

Re: Canadian Water Cans
Hi Matt,
First of all, thanks for the reply. We can't know everything and I love the fact that so many folks have "niche" of information available to us all.
The picture of the can with VALOR has a 45 stamped next to it (you can see it in the photo), is that not the date?
Tim

Hi Tim
I can't speak to the worth but seeing the 'MG WATER' marking on it is interesting. This style can was used in late WW1 and beyond as a condensing can for the water-cooled Vickers machine gun. Check out 'Vickers machine gun water can' on Google Images for examples.

Re: Canadian Water Cans
D'oh! Yes 45 is the date of manufacturer. I have a later (I think 1953) Valor can.
