USN Fuel Can

Okay, I have a few military vehicles but readily know little of fuel cans. I purchased a gas can that is embossed with USN. Question: is this a US Navy can or are the letters "USN" just used by the manufacturer?

It's a Navy can. Check on the bottom for the date.

Oh, great! I just had not seen a USN can before. It says "43" on the bottom. I don't have a Navy vehicle so will probably sell it.

Well, if I could only read correctly...the bottom of the can is embossed with a "42" and not a "43". See the photo.

If you want to sell it you should post it with the pictures on the for sale tab of the G.

It should go quickly.
