Time to let these Shelf Queens go... These are early/first issue cans as well as a neat Tac-marked 1942 Can for your consideration. All are sold as display pieces only: don't know if they still hold fuel/water.
Left to Right:
* Pre-War GALVANIZED, Euro-Pattern Can. Original silver painted finish is only about 30% but ZERO rust thanks to the factory galvanizing underneath. Traces of the early "red X" detailing and, best of all, faint unit markings to the 4th Tank.
These are the cans depicted in the pre-war Cuba training photos. Early + Nice + TANK. As USMC cans go, a RARE bird. $175.
* Early Euro-Pattern Can. Very clean and straight. Was stripped and nicely refinished. Minor dents and some fine pitting in spots. Could stand another coat of Forest Green but very nice overall. $125
* Early Euro-Pattern Can. Same as above only it was not stripped before it was refinished (and could stand one). Some dents and minor rust. Overall VG. $100.
* Standard Pattern Can with "WATER" and TAC marking. Original, period paint is about 85%. I gave it a quick Go-Jo scrub for this glamour shot which will dull down in a few days. Underside marked 20-5-42 CONCO. Some dents and rust and an epoxy pin hole repair to the underside. Otherwise a super cool, REAL unit-marked water can for your vehicle or field gear display. $150. *** SOLD
Prices do not include postage. In my experience, postage is rarely cheap on these, even with a custom box... just warning 'ya. I can deliver to the upcoming (11/06/21) Stewarts Militaria show in Phoenix (Tempe) or the 2022 Louisville Show of Shows IF PREPAID. Otherwise they won't be coming along for the trip.
Please PM direct if interested. Thanks for looking!
