Replacement jerry can spouts (not small unleaded nozzle)

Post by Auto Shop teacher » Tue Apr 16, 2019 11:34 pm

I belong to a railroad museum in Southern Calif. and we have 20 or 30 jerry cans we use to refuel our forklifts and other motorized vehicles and we are running out of working spouts. Other than it not leak and not being the small unleaded nozzle just about anything else would probably work for us.

Do you know of a source of any nozzles, and/or where can we get that flexible spout material to repair what we have now. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

The only identical appearing non GI Surplus spouts I have seen have been off shore ones that have a short life. The new gasoline container regulations have put an end to the original GI Nozzles as we know them.
NOS are in demand, used can be "leakers".

If you are anywhere near Pomona, M&I Surplus off Gary Avenue typically has gas can spouts. I don't recall what they want for them, however last time I saw, they had a bunch.

I bought some replacement rubber at one time from Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts (host of this site) to repair some leaking spouts. That worked out great for me. However, I don't know if he sells the rubber anymore, but it looks like he sells the spouts.
