gas in water can

Grand daughter's SO put gas in my water can.

Hints to remove gas odor and taste, or am I out of luck?

Try trisodium phosphate. My experience has been that the more time gas has been the can, the less successful you will be in removing the gasoline and making it viable for potable water.
