USN Jerry Can

Post by Pat Gray » Thu Jan 03, 2019 5:41 pm

Thought I would share this with you all. I am a frequent garage sale and flea market person when I get the chance. Stopped at a flea market last summer and came across this jerry can. The plates on the sides seemed odd so I opened it up and spotted the USN on the inside, up-side down.
Could not pass it up, the price was right and it came home with me. Thought you all would like to see it.

Hi Pat! It looks similar to this one but the stamp is in the wrong place.

Also, is that plate pop riveted on, looks like spot welds... does it leak there?

Do the plate say anything?

Hi Mark, :)
The plates are blank and someone gas welded them on. It had some old gas in it when I bought it, but does not leak. They stenciled GAS and thats the only markings I have found. I will have to do research on it to see where it was made.
