Thank you Mark, Chuck and Marty!
Marty, did you fabricate those brackets? If so, what metal thickness did you use? If not, where did you get them?

Re: Jeep/Trailer Jerry Can locations
I bought the brackets years ago as repros that someone in the SoCal MVCC had had made. A few years ago, there was a thread here in the trailer forum (IIRC) on how to make them yourself. They are made from about 1/8" thick sheet steel.
Here's the thread from the trailer forum by Bill H where he made the brackets from rectangular tubing:

Re: Jeep/Trailer Jerry Can locations
Hi Marty,
Thanks so much for the link. I had some made up at a welding training center. Can you check and let me know what length of bolts you used to go all the way through the can holder, through the bracket to the inside of the trailer wall? I am guessing probably correctly that they are longer than the standard bolts called for in a normal jerry can installation?

Maybe 3/4", 3/8-16 USS IIRC. Certainly no longer than 1" would work. The tray is maybe 14 gauge (close to 1/16"), add a flat washer, (another 1/16"), 1/8" for the plate, another 1/10" for the frame, another flat washer (1/16"), a lockwasher (1/16") then the nut( 5/16" tall).

Are you referring to the bracket off the frame like on an M416B1? They are not available. They must be fabricated.1stSgtUSMC wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 6:55 amWhere can I purchase the mount used for the jerry can mount "extension" on the M416? Thank you in advance.
