I believe your can may have been made in France.

EAU is French for water.

I have a can that is of similar construction.
It was made in France.

...yes, sure that "eau" is French, the production date seemed very strange to me, considering that in 45 the French had other problems :( , but yours is also marked with the same date, you were very kind, thanks for your time!
