This is a 1950's reconditioned unit not correct for WWII.

Thanks for the info.
Would like to know some details on what the exact differences are for future reference?

Brian,

Looking at my Case 79, the main differences I can see are that the wire clips have been upgraded to spring clips, the battery plugs are a different shape and the case ID plate is less descriptive.

Thanks Derek,
I see what you mean.
Main difference looks to be the spring loaded clips.
The battery plug patterns are the same, just has a diiferent shape head on it.

OK, postwar depot redo CS-79 price negotiable.

Anything with the spring loaded clips was made or reconditioned after 1949.

I have a few of the wire bale type latches available. Just the latch. Package does not include the storage spring or the J-hook. NOSB, $7.50 each. The wire diameter is slightly greater than early to mid-war production. It might be necessary take a large chisel and slightly spread the hook on the mating J-hook. Or might not. Of four I looked at on a PE-117, two did and two didn't.

Hello everyone! I would like to ask Derek Eddlestone if he could give me the exact dimensions of the BA-39 and BA-40 batteries, because I want to start remanufacturing the bodies of these batteries with a 3D printer. photos are also welcome of the faces as well as the connectors. Thank you for your help.

Good luck with your project but I posted those pics about 15 years ago and the CS-79 must have been sold about 12 years ago.

Search for member "g504" and send him a PM. Thierry has a pretty large collection of WWII radio gear and has helped me out a lot in the past...he should be able to help you out, and he speaks your language! :D
