Gray painted BC 1000-A

Post by N6FEG » Mon Oct 17, 2022 6:30 pm

G'day to the group.... I have a BC 1000-A that's painted gray and looks to have been originally painted gray..not OD.
The nomenclature tag is plastic , it says Signal Corp and the s/n is 6613 SF
Hoping someone can shed some light on where this particular set would have been used. If someone needs to see what it looks like PM me with your email address and I'll get the pics off to you.

Tnx
Paul

Navy-USMC. Note it does not say Army Signal corps.

I thought Navy but the tag says Signal Corp and not sure what the -sf after the s/n denotes.

They were all manufactured on Army Signal Corps contracts for the Navy. That is why they are not marked Army Signal Corps but simply Signal Corps. These were manufactured grey not repainted later. They were never US Army property.

The grey ones are fairly rare.
