How to mount a FT-237 onto FT-285
Is there any prescribed way on mounting the FT-237 radio tray onto the FT-285 stand. I can see putting a metal sheet on top of the the stand for the tray to sit on or two heavy metal strips layed across the frame to have the two feet of the radio tray mount to them.
Just wondering what has been the way this is done.
Tnx
Paul

I am not 100% certain but I believe they first mounted the radio cabinet then the table inside of that
At least on open vehicles
CH-74 is the cabinet I believe

I always used 2"wide x 1/8" thick metal plates mounted to the FT 285 where the shock mounts are on the FT-237 when the CH-74 is not used.

Thanks Radtech I'll use some 3/16" thk 4 3/4" wide steel pcs on the FT-85 I have to mount the two feet of the FT-237 onto.
Loganr sometimes the CH-74 isn't always used on the FT-285. I plan to mount the SCR 808 on it and use the BG 96 to cover it.
Tnx

Re: How to mount a FT-237 onto FT-285
the installation manual mentions a piece that goes underneath the mount.
most likely just a sheet metal like on the weasel.
we made a sheet and used the hole pattern from the CH-74
its in the command car installation manual.

Re: How to mount a FT-237 onto FT-285
You need Adapter Kit MC-471 which includes three plates and a bunch of threaded fasteners and washers. The kit is listed in TM 11-2726 as being required for certain radio sets in the Command Car. SIG STK # 2Z299-471. I can send you a one page PDF that lists the contents of the Kit and gives the dimensions of the plates. Unfortunately, the diameters and locations of the holes in the three plates are shown on SIG C DWG # SC-D-7102 which I have never found. Reprint of TM 11-2726 also available but not for free.

Thank you Robert. A copy of that page giving the dimensions of those plates would be most appreciated.

CORRECTION:
Two additional plates, not three.
