MP-52 Reproduction Antenna Base Available
I have a limited number of reproduction MP-52 Antenna Bases available here in the US. These bases are an almost exact copy of an original WWII mount loaned to me by a fellow collector. The base parts are laser cut, accurate to 0.001 inches, and the bell shaped top and cap are manufactured by Wenzel Metal in Scottsboro, AL, by the metal "spinning" process, a very special (and expensive) operation. The completed base is primer coated with an industrial primer from Sherwin Williams and final coated with Gillespie 319 Olive Drab.
The only significant difference between the original and my reproductions is the ceramic insulator inside the tube. The original units used a ceramic disk surrounded with a metal ring (steel?) that was drilled and tapped. The best that I could come up with is a standard "spool" insulator, cut in half, and wrapped with three layers of 3M High Voltage rubber self vulcanizing tape. The screws bite into the rubber into the groove of the insulator. All of this is hidden inside the tube and never seen unless physically taken apart.
These bases, like all of my products, come with a 100% money back guarantee. If you don't like it for ANY reasn, send it back to me in the same condition it was shipped (no new holes, repainted, etc.) and I will refund all of your money.
The cost of these bases is expensive, because they are expensive to manufacture, but I have done my best to keep the prices well below the "other" mounts on the market. These sell for $395.00 with FREE SHIPPING to anywhere in the lower 45 states, not including the west coast. Sorry but there has to be a $30 surcharge on shipping to California, Oregon and Washington states. The completed unit is heavy and bulky - both of which control the shipping cost. All will be sent UPS Ground. Below are some photos of the parts, and assemblies. Thanks for your interest. Tom Campbell
Sorry, forgot to add that I accept Paypal under my email address of Industele@aol.com I will also be more than happy to answer any questions, or furnish more photos by contacting me at the same address - rather than tie up the 503 band width. Tom Campbell

Re: MP-52 Reproduction Antenna Base Available
I made some of these about 20 years ago. Walker exhaust had a reducer that was exactly the right size and shape for the top of the tube.

Re: MP-52 Reproduction Antenna Base Available
Thanks for the info, Jesse; however, I really REALLY searched for a ready made item for the bell end. I guess Walker has stopped making them. I checked with every major truck and exhaust dealer in the Southeast and on line with no luck. Trust me, if I could have gotten the bell ends without having them special made, I certainly wouldn't have spent the money on the expensive parts. Tom Campbell
