Strange and unknown BC-1000/SCR-300 mounting

Post by YLG80 » Sat May 29, 2021 1:26 am

I was intrigued by this chassis support SP.38A from the French Army that was for sale, last week on eBay.
So I have bought that unknown object to try to mount an SCR-300 on it.
I have scoured the web but I have not found any information about that mounting.

It's obviously dedicated to the SCR-300 as written on a cover.
I am wondering if was not to be used in a light reconnaissance aircraft or perhaps an helicopter of the French Army during the Algeria war.
I have a drawing of a light aircraft mounting that is very different.(Morane-Saulnier 733 aircraft)

Here are a few photos.
I would appreciate if you could provide any information about that thing.
I have put one of my BC_1000 on that thing, as I imagine it could be used.

Other photos, trying to mount an SCR_300

This is likely to connect the large rubber plug from the BC-1000 radio top part.

This is likely to interconnect the battery to the BC-1000 via the chassis

It could be mounted like that, or perhaps it would use a PP114 heavy Power Supply on top of the radio?
The radio is for sure mounted on the bottom because the audio plugs have to be connected to the radio.

There was likely kind of a rubber pad installed below the bracket.

I have got some additional information about that BC-1000 mounting from a former member of the French ALAT.
It was indeed to be used in an aircraft.
It was used by the French ALAT, Aviation Légère de l’Armée de Terre or Light Aircraft of the Ground Forces.

The power supply was a AA3 special model made for the aircraft 28.5 Volts supply.

According to what is written on the AA3 power supply instruction plate, the AA3 had to be inserted into the CS-128 battery box.
It seems that the power supply had to be mounted under the radio box, unlike my test assembly.
