Wanted....Aerial Rods
Hi,
Does anyone here in UK have the aerial rods that screw into this Hotchkiss antennae mount (pics attached)
Please pm if you think you can help or steer me in the right direction, someone thought BG56's are needed but wasn't 100% sure.
Cheers

Re: Wanted....Aerial Rods
The ant base in your pic sure looks like a MP-48 to me and should accept the MP 53 ant section.
You say its a Hotchkiss mount , could it be the threads in the MP-48 have been modified to accept a different ant?

Hi Paul,
I don't think it's been modified so welcome all advice. When you say it should take a MP53 section, is that one piece or two???
When I say Hotchkiss mount, I mean it's all mounted on a Willys - Hotchkiss M201..
Nick

Re: Wanted....Aerial Rods
MP-53 is one section of an antenna system. That starts with MP-49 (the smallest single ended) and continues up to MP-57 or so. MP-53 has the correct thread to screw into the top of the MP-48 base. The number of mast sections used has to do with which radio set you are using.

Hi Nick
You should be able to find those ant sections separately or preferably all 5 sections in a BG-56 bag that was used to stow them away.
They are somewhat common and shouldn't be to difficult to locate in your part of the world. Though that said , the MP-49 , the smallest dia and top section is usually a harder one to locate as , at least with me, they break the easiest.
Good luck
Paul

Hello.
For mast sections, the correct reference is MS and not MP.
The rest is correct.

Re: Wanted....Aerial Rods
Here is the full set. Note that the MS-52 (blue end) OR the MS-53 (white end) have the correct threads to attach to the MP-48 base. MS-54, 55 and 56 (to the left) are not used in vehicular installations. They are for ground based antennas.
