Manual TM 11-620 for radio sets SCR-608, SCR-628 for sale

Post by John Neuenburg » Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:58 pm

For sale is a mint, genuine manual TM 11-620 for the WWII SCR-608-A, B, and SCR-628-A radios. These were the sets used in vehicles and on the ground using artillery frequencies. Transmitters BC-684-(*) and receiver BC-683-(*) plus equipment to go with them. These manuals are vital for someone installing sets in a vehicle, operating it, maintaining it, and finding all the bits that came with the set.

Dated October 1947 so will show all items relating to WWII. You won't find a nicer one.

$80 US and will save it for a buyer of one of my BC-683 receivers on other posts, unless he/she doesn't want it. Send me an email if you want just the manual.

This manual is still available. Price drop to $60 USD plus postage. PayPal, check, money order. Email is my preferred way to communicate.

If you are reading this because you are shopping for a radio set, if you plan to use it and talk to people with SCR-508/528 radios that were the common ones in the mechanized units, the SCR-608/628 will work because the frequencies overlap in the 27-27.9 MHz range. Obviously, infantry, armor, and artillery units would want to be able to talk to each other. So if you are equipping an armored car, halftrack, tank, truck, or tent with a radio and you find a nice SCR-608/628 set (BC-684 transmitter, BC-683 receiver), you could buy that and if a SCR-508/528 set comes along you could swap it out and sell the other. The components look identical except for the data plates.
