ΑΝ/VRC47 Radio Setup Modular Frame Concept - Μ38Α1

Post by Dokimos » Thu May 09, 2019 10:30 am

Dear All,

From a long time now I wanted to install the VRC47 setup on my M38A1 but naturally, I didn't want any holes on the jeep. The solution I found was to design a modular frame that would use existing holes on the jeep and provide the mounting for the two sets, the RT524 and the R442. Today I picked up the frames from the machine shop and they look great. More pictures will come as I install them on the jeep.

Look really nice, they did a great job. Will you powder coat it or paint it?

Curious why did you get like a 4" hole on the R442 side? Just to lighten the mount a little? GIve it some cooling from the bottom (air movement)?
I built a modular mount for the PRC-47 that I can pull two pins and remove it. I did it at home using a PLASMA TV kit. Yours looks very professional.
Thanks for sharing,
