What Is This Mount????

Post by Steve Greenberg » Sun Mar 08, 2020 5:25 pm

Hello,
Does anyone know what this mount is for? It is made of solid brass. It looks like some type of antenna mount??? 46 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter.
Thanks,
Steve

It looks to be a Navy shipboard optics mount.

Why would it be solid brass for optics?

Hi Steve,

Is it a compass mount for a PT boat or small navy craft ?

Brass non magnetic base so the compass will swing accurately.

Cheers
