so a guy in europe sent us the measurements from a found artifact,

turns out it was offset, with two holes (we only drilled the big one.)

there was also a 1 inch hole for a wire penetration, presumably for an MP-48 set up. ??

as far as thickness goes you can get the lock washer, and one nut on it. and the interior insulator sticks up just above the gasket.

I guess that the 1" hole could have been for a feed-through insulator if the MP-48-A were configured externally. But the only MP-48-A installation I recall on a tank was through the rear of the turret and with the MP-48 configured for internal wiring, despite the RF losses.

yah, and im not familiar enough, with brit/french radio rigs, to know if it was a euro thing.

Yeah, that's another possibility. The Signal Corps was usually pretty logical. I'd be willing to bet that for mounting the MP-57, there was an appropriate diameter hole in the center of the circular plate.
