FS: BLANKETS -- USMA, Army ('87), USN (50s-60s) & USMC WW1

Time to clear the Hoard of Military Blankets from the garage... These are either above-average condition, quality or scarcity. I only have one of each blanket listed.

09.24.22 USMA Blanket.jpg

West Point USMA Blanket. Measures roughly 6' x 6.5'. Superb, 100% virgin lambs wool with label from Faribault (in OCS we got standard Army blankets... but we only had to use them for 90 days.). EXC condition. $25

09.24.22 Army 1987 Blanket.jpg

Army 100% Wool Blanket. Glued-on tag still intact and indicates 66" x 84" size, 65% New + 35% Reprocessed Wool content, and 1987 contract date. Has printed-on U.S.. Overall EXC and high quality all things considered. $20.

09.24.22 USN Blanket.jpg

U.S. Navy Wool Blanket. Measures approx. 6' x 6.5'. Has printed-on U.S. NAVY on both ends. Not the usual Medical blanket I normally see. No tag left but judging by the quality, I'm guessing 50s-60s vintage. Has some moth tracking and a few small holes but overall VG++. $20

The following blankets are USMC issue with the black end stripes and chain-stitched USMC in the center. Conventional Wisdom sez that these are WW1 era based on those features. In contrast, the WW2 production blankets have black end stripes but no USMC. That said, you will see these used -- like plenty of other pre-WW2 items-- by the thrifty USMC well into WW2. I have sold these in the past for twice these prices. They are not easy to find in good shape after a hundred years. They all measure roughly 5.5' x 6.5'.

09.24.22 USMC Chain Stitch Blanket #1.jpg

Textbook example in VG-EXC condition. Very minor edge binding wear and a small moth hole or two. Would pass a bunk inspection... $60 *** SOLD ***

09.24.22 USMC Chain Stich Blanket #2 (Oversized).jpg

Oversized USMC variant. Color is a little more olive as well. May be overseas made? Couple of 1/4" holes and edge binding wear but would still display fine. $50

09.24.22 USMC Chain Stich Blanket #3 (Serifs).jpg

USMC w/Serifs. Fancy, classic embroidery, 100% WW1 (in my opinion). Has some holes and rips but strong color and EXC edge binding. This baby was "there"... wherever "there" was. $50

Prices do not include postage. Please PM direct if interested. Thanks for looking!
