This is a standard Dietz oil lantern in the classic "barn" style that is embossed U.S.M.C. and dated "42". Glass is correct and mint. It was surface rusty when I got it so I bead-blasted it and clear-coated as it had no evidence of paint. Has some stress cracks to the chimney and the dings/crimps to the base lip (as shown) but otherwise VG+-EXC. Very cool and unusual piece of Marine field equipment that has been sitting in my collection for about ten years... Time to move it on.
