I am not a reenactor. I bought a reproduction Tanker Jacket to wear while driving my 1942 GPW. I wear it in tribute to my Uncle, who served with the 2nd AD 67th Armored Regiment from 1941-1945.
His highest rank was Technician 5th Grade. He served in Company A / Maintenance Battalion in North Africa and Sicily. And in D Company as a tank machine gunner form Normandy into Germany. I have a few photos of him during his service. Both in the Class A (?) uniform, and field uniforms. During his years of service, would there have been a 2nd AD patch on the Left sleeve of his tanker jacket? And a 67th Armored Regiment Patch on his Right Sleeve? In addition to the Tech/5 chevrons? The photos from the 67th Armored History book show Field Uniforms with patches (censored), and without. I know there was a war on. Were the regulations for just one patch?
Or Both?
Just wondering. I want the jacket to look right, from a history perspective.

Re: WW II 67th Armored Field Uniform Question
Dan, you should have a 2AD patch on the left shoulder and rank on each sleeve. There should not be any patch on the right side. I appreciate that you're not a reenactor but you're still trying to do it right!

Don’t forget if your father was in service in 1941 he may have worn his 2nd Armored patch on his chest of his Tankers Jacket !
