Information on this Pack please
Hi all,
As per the subject, I have been offered this WW2 Army (apparently) pack, condition is excellent, what I need is rarity and approximate value on a good day so I can make the owner and educated offer, any other information also would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a Marine camo Jungle pack
https://www.ebay.com/itm/353890947357?_ ... 101224.m-1
The Army had a 1942 experimental pack also in camo so
https://www.ebay.com/itm/125024515900
Should have something with manufacturer name/date under flap with as good a condition that is in.

Hi Steve,
I went over this and the only markings I can find is a faded US on the outside of the flap, I am not sure if the lack of other markings is a deal breaker or not as Items from the PTO are usually my area. Your links were helpful
Any help on opinions on the originality appreciated.

My go to site for questions about US militaria is the US Militaria Forum.com. A quick search using the terms "camouflaged field pack" turned up several pages of related threads. Here're just a sample that seem to cover the topic. There is a a sub-forum there for discussing values and prices.

FWIW, I'd say you're looking at the camouflaged version of the M1944 (1942?) Jungle Pack. Plenty more info on the details to be found there, though.
Happy collecting!

Re: Information on this Pack please
I don't think many of these got issued (compared to the O.D. version anyway). I've read that the Marine females got them at the end of the war and they were surplused (which explains why most are very nice).

Re: Information on this Pack please
There are several wartime photos of troops using the camouflaged jungle packs (both Army and USMC) in various threads on the US Militaria Forums discussing them. The camouflaged packs are highly sought after by many collectors.
Check out page 2 of this thread for some detailed photos of US Army troops on Luzon:

Thanks for the information and the links to photos showing them in use, and because of this I am the new owner.
