M-1945 cold weather sleeping bag

Post by wc56daveyboy » Fri Jan 07, 2022 2:08 pm

I bought a M-1945 sleeping bag.
No. Not the more common M-1945 outer cover

No. It’s not the M-1949 mountains cold weather bag either

It’s clearly marked M-1945 inside.

BAG,SLEEPING,ARCTIC
M-1945

It’s printed inside. Not a sewn in label as I’ve seen on later M1949 bags

It’s very much like the M1949 cold weather arctic bay in style and appearance in many respects.
Mummy bag if you will. Full length Zipper. Eyelets. Hood.

I dont see much if any reference to it online.
I see much reference to the outer shell M1945 item, but not the sleeping bag itself.

https://olive-drab.com/od_soldiers_gear ... ng_bag.php

This site skips over any mention of a M-1945 bag, going from the M-1942 and going straight to the M-1949 type

Is this a somewhat more rare item? This one looks almost unissued.

Also. Does anyone know the cold rating of these bags?

Thank you

Doesn’t seem to show up in QM catalogs. Only the M-1942 sleeping bag does
