Chest identification help

Post by D_Conrad » Fri Nov 26, 2021 3:56 pm

I found this chest for sale but am not sure what it is. The seller said they are not aware of markings. Anybody know what it is?

I'm thinking this is either part of an engineer toolset chest, or a signal corps set. It almost appears (to this set of eyes anyway  ) that the front of the chest retains traces of stenciled markings. Perhaps SVC? I can't make it all out from this photo, and it does not specifically ring any bell. It's well constructed though.
