Early AAC/Armor/Mtn Troop Goggles+Mask Combo?

First off, definitely "factory" made... Goggles look like the classic Resistal. Elastic head strap is khaki (simple, nickled "H" buckle). Brown wool + Resistal sounds like US Army... early. Clearly "cold weather", but intended for whom? Air Corps? Mountain Troops? Vehicle Operator?

if its real, it Could well be an early bazooka mask.
They made VERY similar items from chamois leather to protect your face from the rocket leaving the tube.
