Repairing AAC A6 boot zippers

Post by Billy Bolton » Sat Apr 18, 2020 6:07 am

Does anyone know if it is possible to repair zippers in A6 flying boots that have pulled apart? No teeth are missing. I have heard that one side of the zipper slide can be closed around the unattached teeth by compressing the side of the slide with pliers. But I do not know how to start the zipper pull at the bottom since the zipper does not have the starter tab like on a jacker zipper. So I assume you put the slide at the very bottom and compress it around the unattached teeth there at the bottom of the zipper.

Does anyone sell a replacement zipper that would look good in the A6 boot? As a last resort I could look for cheat flying boots with good zipper(s) and switch out the zippers onto my boots.

Thanks for your help.

Check wikiHow.How to fix a separated zipper. They show a couple of step by step methods.
Good luck.
