M2 Bailey Bridge training model
All
I came across sets 1 and 3 of a M2 Bailey Bridge training set today. I have read about the training sets, but never anything on the Bailey Bridge. I am torn on buying it; it is really cool but don't want to buy it unless it fits the WWII build (otherwise I need it like I need a hole in the head).
Was this a training aid used during the war? Or is this at least the correct setup that would have been used then? Or was this strictly a postwar thing?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Lol if you could get this in full scale ,say 60 feet of bridge I need this for our Bridge At Remagen 1945 event in Tidioute. I have a 551ft per WW II bridge we use but a bailey would be nice to cross another creek.

Re: M2 Bailey Bridge training model
Hey guys,
Just noticed the thread. I can say that we used these models in the 80s in a bridge unit I was in. As a matter of fact, I see smartsniper308 is in LA. My unit was an Army Reserve Engineer unit in Texarkana, not far away. Maybe it is one of the sets from there? I really don't know when the kits came about though or how early they were produced. They were pretty cool.
I did find this on another forum site: "The WWII kit is made up of mostly wood where as the post-WWII version uses both plastic and metal."

Are these model sets still available? If so I’d like to buy them. Anyone else have any of these? I can be reached at (440) 494-2683
