Build Your Own M2HB Browning Replica-Update 03/07/07
Gentlemen/Ladies,
I know many folks don't have a lot of cash to spend on a replica 50 cal. to show with their vehicle or display. I thought I would show you all some pictures of my home made replica. I will provide drawings with measurements if there is any interest. All you need is a 50 cal. barrel and you can literally make the rest from scrap metal. I suppose you could make it out of heavy plastic if you wanted to. Remember, this is not a "Shooter" and is only for display. However, I am going to try to convert mine to propane. You will notice. A large bolt is welded onto the receiver end of the barrel and there is a matching nut inside the receiver. This makes it easier to carry disassembled. This replica weighs about as much as the real one. Here are the photos:

Looks good. I purchased a old home built one when the MVPA conv was in Memphis. I gave 50.00 for it. I cut the barrel off, got a shot out one from SARCO for 35.00 bucks, had a firing chamber made at a machine shop that matched the treads on the barrel where I could just screw it in, and added a gas fire kit. Has worked well for several years now.

I would also like a copy. My dad just got a plazma cutter so he may enjoy helping me build it.

Topkick...I'm restoring my '43 GPW to an 83rd Armored Recon Battalion configuration...and that .50 would sure look nice in the back!
