FS: WW2 Universal Rifle Rack Cover LONG GONE
Yep, that's right...
I've got a WW2 canvas "Universal Rifle Case D78296" to sell -- the "cover" typically found on the universal rifle rack mounted in jeeps etc. This case shows no evidence of having been installed on a rack -- no extra holes or staple marks. This is a fairly scarce piece to find "loose" since most are dry-rotted, torn or long gone from the racks they once covered.
Condition is VG+ showing some storage age and dirt but no significant damage, rips or ROT. Alloy zipper is EXC. Interior green leather reinforcements show no use. Exterior is legibly stenciled with UNIVERSAL RIFLE CASE D78296. Only the loose end of the leather pull tab is gone.
I am including an original B-209707 Steel Mounting Strip so you can mount this case on your original (or reproduction) Rifle Rack.
Price is $70 Postpaid, Priority Mail in the Lower 48. Please PM or e-mail direct if you are interested. Pic available if you need one. Thanks for looking!

Come on now Jeff, I don't want to hear stories of seller's remorse...especially after the stuff I've sold the past several days.AZ Jeff wrote:I sometimes wish I still had the things I've sold six years ago... Sorry guys, it's long gone.

Re: FS: WW2 Universal Rifle Rack Cover LONG GONE
Jeff, as I fit my Universal Rifle Case to my WC this evening, I came across this post that feels like old wounds being opened up. $70 and that included shipping?! Aaaaah, the good ol' days.
We were whining about 'inflation' even in 2013.

Never fails! Sixteen years later, and they're not only cheaper, they're only a $20(+) Priority Mail Box away! Good thing that we collectors rarely factor logistics into our decisions. Otherwise, the postage and time/fuel/lodging costs might temper those deals that aren't around the corner.
