.45 cal shoulder holster

Post by OldJeepBob » Thu Mar 16, 2023 2:50 pm

I just got a call from CMP 1911 that I have my number drawn for a Service Grade 1911. I would really like an original shoulder holster. Admit I know 5% more than zero about this and would like advice also. Thanks from the N. GA mountains.

Hi Bob,
Uncle $am made them in two models, the M3 and the M7.
Fairly easy to search google to compare the two.

It's also easy to find accurate quality reproductions of either for reasonable cost.
Unless by "original" you mean something with decades old leather?
They can be found fairly easy as well but condition varies, add $100 to the price.

Good luck!

That one comes from Germany.
Pretty sure he can find them closer to home.

I didn't want to ask, so I looked it up on the CMP's website: the Service Grade 1911 price is $1250.
I hope he gets a really nice one for that much coinage.

Thanks, guys. $$$$ worth it , if, . . . I will let y'all know. Better than the 4K I've seen here. It may be in today, gotta "pass the background check" first.

Update to Ron D, and others interested. Picked up the .45, and it is a '43 Ithaca, with an Ithaca slide, beautifully parkerized, $1250. Have not disassembled yet to see "what lies under". Think I came out OK.
