M73 machineguns for CG V100

Post by wgtactical » Sun Jul 24, 2022 6:44 am

The M73 dummy project for the Cadillac Gage V100 that served in Vietnam with the 504th MP's is just about complete. Still have to put together the charging assembly but the heavy lifting is done. Would be nice to hear from some 504th Vietnam vets that was familiar with the "Blood Sweat and Tears" V100

Gerald,
WOW! Those M73's look fantastic!
Shades of the early 1970's when I use to repair them.
Keep us up to date on the final version.

Thank you Joe. We built these out of necessity, considering that parts are getting very difficult to find. I would like to buy a few more feed trays but will probably end up making those at some point too. Although these are dummies, I am using the OEM feed trays, cover latch and charging handle because they were cheaper to buy than fabricate. Unfortunately since parts supplies are drying up, that wont be an option next time.

Amazing work! Well done and a shame they get covered up when installed back in the turret.

I preferred them when they were nickle plated.
