M1 Garand in 1951 M35 Reo
Hi Guys can anyone tell me what holder would be used in the cab of a 1951 M35 Reo for a drivers M1 Garand.

Before the part number is posted,
IMHO, I would say the standard military rifle rack which was available in droves from '42 onward production would be the correct model for the truck.
Can't see why it would have had a new or special contrivance for issue, especially as Korea popped up VS. ramping up for it.

There is a later style mount that had a oval butt ring, (floor mount) and a dash mounted twist handle, some armored vehicles like M114, M113 utilized squeeze type tabs to push a barrel into for M16 variants but without looking in the manuals for that part number I estimate all those types came out in late 50's early 60's timeframe.

There was a 'Nam era set of plastic or rubber coated Clamps that were mafe for M-151, M-715, etc that bolted to dashboards and held the rifles vertical They will be less clumsy. I do not have the bulletin handy.
