Lend Lease Thompsons

There was a story on YouTube about the capture of the mines/caverns in Bahkmut this month, there were crates of M1 and 1928A1 Thompson SMG's, they looked factory fresh. They were packed in crates with Russian markings so likely those weapons that were sent in tanks and armored vehicles and stored un-used due to no supply lines of .45acp?
Yes, I admit I drooled a little...

From time-to-time I hear of internet links that I believe would not be a good idea to follow.

The video you mention is probably within that category - but for a different reason.

Yes, I most likely could not stand to watch it . . . knowing there is no way I could ever possess one.

The Ukranian army is accepting foreign volunteers...... I'm sure they would give you two of them. One for each hand.

Not interested in a "short term loan" was thinking more along the lines of "permanent acquisition" for The Collection.

You don't understand; this is not a short term loan; these will be yours for the rest of your life.
Which will be 8.5 months after you get there.

So . . . probably no reason to set up a Gun Trust?

I doubt that the Russians found any US WWII weapons in Bakhmut which they have held for almost two months.ukraine is now drafting 17 year old's and they can draft as young as 16 which is when a boy needs to register for the ukraine draft. All the WWII US weapons the USSR had were sent to Mao in China in 1946 along with all the junk 98k's,Italian and Bulgarian weapons and all of the captured G98/40,43M and 35M rifles. In the early 60's an importer I worked for bought a boat load of these from Taiwan that they had captured from the communists.

I can’t vouch for the alleged recent finds but World Wide Arms brought some into the U.K. that came from the salt mines about 10 years ago and there are many more still out there.

I am fully aware of the Lend Lease Act - and even have a couple samples of different weapons in my collection.

But - and that is a really big but

Lend = grant to (someone) the use of (something) on the understanding that it shall be returned

Lease = a contract by which one party conveys land, property, services, etc. to another for a specified time, usually in return for a periodic payment.

". . . shall be returned." FAIL

". . . periodic payment." FAIL

We do not enforce the terms of the Lend Lease Contracts, in most cases. We don't, and didn't, want any of it back. Few exceptions.
You are a class 3 dealer to have examples of full auto or select fire firearms in your state, right?

All of those thompsons went to Mao from Stalin between 1946=1949.They also went to North Korea when the Soviets occupied it 1945-1948 where they created the communist government from 1945-1948.

Of course we did not enforce the terms, but that still does not explain the improper terms "lend" and "lease" - unless you consider the government redefined the meaning of the words, but of course the government would never do that.

The Lend Lease Act included weapons other than full auto and select fire, as shown by the examples in my collection.

Of course; I just assumed that since you wanted a Thompson that you could actually own one, in your state. Which does not allow them except for dealers.
