This ad may be a scam. I sent $$ a month ago and have not received the items. I got a call from the purported wife yesterday who claimed the seller passed away.

I will post more details as I dig into this.

Anyone else send $ and not get anything?

I inquired about this also several weeks ago and never got a response. I do not believe this would have been a scam though as this user has sold many things on here. I have contacted him many times and purchased several items from him and others he connected me with. Believe they were in the Reno area. Sure would be surprised to hear he died as I didn't take him to be too old. Sorry to hear that if he did.

I looked at the seller's info and it seems he has been registered for quite a while and made many posts. Therefore, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
But the timeline of events in my situation is as follows:

Oct. 12th - responded to ad.
Oct. 13th - communicated to seller and paid for the item via Paypal. He claimed he had 2 units and I purchased them both.
Oct. 21 - no item received. Contacted seller and he said he had trouble finding box to fit items in.
Oct. 26 - seller says he can't fit items into priority flat rate box. Seller says he will meet my friend at the big Reno Collector's gun show on 11/4-6.

Nov. 4th - called seller's phone #. Does not answer. Later on, I get call from different # claiming to be his wife Lisa. Lisa says he unexpectedly passed away this morning. She says she sees the item in a box in his car. Claims she will get it to my friend.
I call my friend at the show and she claimed to have spoken to him that morning and he told her that he would bring the item by tomorrow.

Nov. 5th (today) - I called seller's wife and told her what my friend said. She is irate and claims I'm lying. She hangs up on me and won't answer my calls now.

Looking to make contact with wife again. If not, I'm filing a police report and pursuing civil damages.

The seller's info is:

I retract the above posts. Apparently, the seller did pass away yesterday.

I am advised that Bryan did indeed pass away several days ago. Please respect his family's grief and privacy for the foreseeable future.

Darn, sad news. It won't be the same at the California swap meets without him riding his bicycle shopping.

He was a human encyclopedia of militaria and a genuinely nice person. He worked hard at helping his sons achieve their scouting goals and always had those boys #1 in his priorities.

I will miss him a lot. RIP Bryan!
