I got a mint luger my uncle brought back and never fired with WWII ammo in the magazine that had set for 35 years and the magazine still functions perfectly today.

I've used many WW2 P38 and M1 carbine magazines with no functionality problems. I think the springs in firearm magazines are a little more resilient than the companies that sell their replacements would have you think :?

A magazine's spring does not lose its "spring" when stored under compression(IE loaded mag). The wear and tear on a mag's spring comes from use(loading and cycling/feeding and repeating over and over and over). A stored, loaded mag will fed with no issues.
