M1 Rifle Rack M3

Post by Pat Gray » Tue May 14, 2019 1:36 pm

Thought I would share this with you all. Some things do still show up on the gov auction sites.
It was a sealed bid and I happen to win it. It is in the SNL B-16 T.M. Dated 1942. It is in very good condition.

Cool we have one like that where the wood has rotted off. Looking to restore it one day.

Congrats!

Neat find, great buy too. I installed 4 heavy duty wheels under one and filled it w/M1's, helps you to be able to move it around the room and a slight rise of 4 inches is not noticed by those walking in, seeing the contents. Piece of angle Iron or rod goes across from end to end with padlock to secure the weapons, I left that out.

PS: Would be nice to add the 45's in the center too on day. WAW

Thank you, It was $75.00. I have noticed one of the eyes for the round bar to go threw for the 45's is broken off. Some of the paint is gone but will be easy to touch up. Wow....this is really heavy also!! well built. I have only seen one other for sale a few years ago and they were asking $400.00 and It sold!!!.

Can you post up pics of the rack?

I have seen one at the Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning but did not get pics of it. Also, some appear have been modified from M1903 use I assume so they could accommodate the M1 or possibly the M14. Can you tell which rifle fits better?

Thx
Jason
