Wood body Ben Hur registration number

I'm in the process of restoring a wood body Ben Hur. This is the largest and most important piece of wood that was still on it. But I'm having a hard time making out the numbers. Any guesses?

Maybe. The bottoms of the numbers look to have been off the edge

The bottom of the numbers are mostly gone. But I read it as USAF 0528123.

That could be, I can see USAF now that you mention it. If the blue is over the white, maybe some very very light sanding to help clear the blue off?

According to the data from Lloyd White shared from the CCKW site to my G518 page that number would correspond to a Hercules Body. Which I'm pretty sure was one of the wood body makers and their production was from 1943-1945, the model was the T6.

Well that's cool. I've started the slow process of fully restoring it. 99% of the wood was missing. I'm lucky that the one in the first post was still there.

We also own a wooden Ben Hur Trailer and don´t know anything about it... Where can we find the VIN number and how long where they fabricated?

The only number would have been on the data plate.

I also have a Hercules T6 and it's USA number and Serial number were stamped on the steel close to the landing leg. After we had it sand blasted it was really clear. Good luck with the restoration.

My Hercules T6 DOD is 03/20/1945. It's Serial Number is 3917. Hope that helps.

The rubber landing tire would be from an earlier trailer. I haven't found the exact date for factory yet. But in the field by February 1943 replacement landing wheels were steel.

I just found a steel wheel Sunday to replace the rubber tire. The steel wheel that came on it was rusted out and bent badly and I had a rubber tire handy for temporary use.
