Canadian 3/4 ton 16.5" wheels
I've got one of the Canadian 3/4 ton trailers. I think they were called M101's. I need to replace the tires and the wheels are 16.5". Anyone know a source for 16.5" tires? Or would I be better of replacing the wheels with similar 16" type?

I have one as well, made by Manac Trailer.
16.5” tires are nearly impossible to find. I’m looking around myself for options on rims as I would like to change them out to 16”

I have a pair NOS ones that I bought for a 16.5" rim on an A-2 Photogrpahic Lab Trailer by Oneida, then sold the trailer on the original tires....I will photograph today and send you pics.....$100 each, NOS...stored indoors purchased 4 years ago.

I'd be interested to see them. Shipping might be problematic though.

I just found these made by Specialty Tires of America. Looks like a similar tread pattern. A bit pricey.

Thanks
Yes I saw these recently but at the price in USD plus shipping hardly an affordable option for a trailer. It would be cheaper to find a mil surp option including new rims

Understood. These could be an option for me. STA is often at shows I attend and they would likely bring an order along with them to save shipping. I would prefer to find 16" rims as that would open up a lot more options.

Re: Canadian 3/4 ton 16.5" wheels
If these wheels are the standard 5 lug budd as used on M37 trucks, I’ve got a number of sandblasted M37 wheels in 16”
Problem
Is shipping.

I don't have the trailer here to double check but I'm pretty sure it is an 8-lug wheel.

8 bolt similar to GM, the 16” Budd M37 type will not fit.
Earlier M101 3/4t Canadian trailers used these and it was simpler.
The Manac Mfg trailer was engineered to pull behind a CUCV or earlier Canadian 5/4 GM. The smaller tire and rim made the trailer tow better than it’s earlier counterpart

Re: Canadian 3/4 ton 16.5" wheels
From what I see online the M1008 CUCV used an 8 x 6.5" bolt pattern and the wheel diameter is 16". Tomorrow I'm going to measure the bolt pattern on the trailer. If the bolt pattern is the same it might work as long as the wheel offset is similar.

Re: Canadian 3/4 ton 16.5" wheels
Update to this quest. I finally got a pair of CUCV wheels with good tires and they fit great! If anyone else is planning to make this swap one thing I can tell you to check first is to measure your trailer hub bore vs. the center bore on the wheel. My trailer hub bore is 4.75". I found wheels that were said to have come from CUCV's and some measured 4.5" on the center bore and some measured 4.75". https://1drv.ms/i/s!AuDIXYF5KvVShP9BadJ ... g?e=fXvrtM
