Ben Hur tires

Post by vwsf » Fri Sep 10, 2021 7:09 pm

Replacement tires for the Ben Hur trailer 750/20 are $328 apiece at Summit racing anybody have any other suggestions the two tires are worth more than the whole trailer

Is there another way?
Thank you Tom

I opted for the highway tread tires. Power King Super Highway. They are made in Taiwan, I believe. The cost of two tires delivered was about what one NDT costs. I bought from SimpleTire. I bought some 90's NOS tubes from eBay. The tires came with nice heavy flaps included.

Hi Matt. I've always purchased from these guys; https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJ ... e&ie=UTF-8. I don't know what their prices are today but, they have always been lower than Summit Racing. Also, they get their inner tubes from India which are much thicker than the Chi-Com tubes and less likely to blow out.

I picked up two NDT 7.50 - 20's for my G518 from performanceplustire.com at 179.00 each.

Can you point to the exact brand or a link? I searched their site and only came up with the Firestone ones for $328 each.

Thanks. Not sure why I couldn't find them before, but your link took me right to the Speedway tires.

Are the Speedway 7.50 x 20's miniaturized like their 7.50 x 16's? I had a set of new Speedway 7.50 x16's on my Carryall project when I acquired it. They just seemed odd looking. I finally sold them to a Jeep guy and ordered the Coker Firestone 7.50 x 16's. Below is a side by side shot of both 7.50 x 16 tires. The Speedways are on the left. I really didn't want to wind up my motor anymore than a standard 7.50 x 16 NDT tire.

Anyone have a Coker Firestone 7.50 x 20 they can compare to the Speedway 7.50 x 20 for size? Maybe post a photo? Seems like a good deal, but a little gun shy of the actual size of the Speedways based on my experience.

What Zeph said. I wouldn't cheap out on these. And yes, you go upside down financially after you buy tires for a BH.

Thanks for the photos. Those look pretty nice. Can you measure the diameter/circumference of the tire as it's mounted and post those?

Appreciate it if you could!
