Like the glazed doughnut photo! And, of course, you need to leave your mark. Really coming together. 25 days...tick tock....

I love your "Builders Mark" Tim. I didn't think that I would/should take a picture of what I did to my trailer, I just thought of it as an identifier for me in case it was stolen. You'll have to look at my thread to find out what it is.

Zeph, you must have had a seminar on how to motivate people somewhere along the line! I shot outside this morning as soon as I saw that.

I see a small weather window, so painting of the slats is next. The oak with the linseed oil mix has dried nicely, and I think it's ready. (Actually it just needs to be ready). I started with more of the hardware since the gun was loaded up with 33070.
Image
After numbering the hardware, I had the idea to number the oak in the same manner, because my various tags were not going to survive paint.
Image
I spread everything out on sawhorses and got started.
Image
Image
Since this is the first coat, and the final coat will go on after assembly, I was able to turn everything and get the next side after not too much time.

Dave, I followed your BH thread, in fact it was a motivating factor for me. But I didn't see your builders mark. I'll look again.

I have to take another photo of it. I can't find where I moved it to.

For assembly, I started with the stakes and the top bow pockets. I wanted to see how this all goes together, so I set it up on the trailer briefly
Image
The top slat has to go on first because the bolt goes through the bow pocket.
Image
Here, all slats in order. Time to go back outside.
Image
I need to get at least some bolts installed while on the trailer, so I'm sure it's square with the stake pockets.
Image
This was thankfully pretty quick, since all holes are pre-drilled.
Image
Pretty close to done. They are heavy once all together.

The wood racks look like quite the project, but look fantastic. You are a real trooper working with all the snow around. Appears you are on the home stretch now, and on track to make the Plymouth show no problem.

Thanks, I think I'll make it. Yes the wood is a project, but I have been enjoying it. Actually, would have been a nice summer project.

I am taking a quick break from wood shop to get an important step behind me. The often-neglected load test. To properly initiate this test a load of approximately one ton (hey, it's in the name) must be slowly and uniformly applied to the trailer to assure that it is up to the rigors of cargo hauling in the near future.
Image
I figure that the trailer has a volume of 128 cubic feet.
Image
And if a cubic foot of Sierra Cement weighs 15 pounds, that's a ton.

Thanks Tom. And thanks for following. Yes, man, we have had the crowds this year, like I've never seen. Big snow equals big crowds. I have to confess, though. I'm behind on posting with everything going on. But I'm catching up. Today's photos are from February when we had the biggest snow month in my 38 years here, 123" in 1 month, here at the house. So stay with me, I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and I have 3 weeks to get my posts all caught up. Then...green grass, swap meet, beer, and sun! Can't wait.

Yeah, and that happened at least 3 times in February alone. I'm ready for sun.

What is the total snow fall in inches this year at Tim's Resort? I saw that on one day there was 39"'s of snowfall at one of the ski resorts up there this year. We are still getting a lot of rain here. Looks like rain all week again.
