Thanks Tim. I found a place on line that has N.O.S. starboard tail lights in the original packaging. They are inbound and I will post photos of them as I open them. Can't wait!!

Hey Gents. I received the two starboard side tail lights today, they are perfect. I asked about port side, and was told he didn't have any. I will have to paint them to match the trailer, but it's a small task. I called the guy to thank him and to find out how many he has left. He said about ten. The price was $70.00 each plus shipping and they are in their original packing. If anyone else needs some, please let me know and I'll forward the info to you.
Here are the pics. of the lights.

I'll look at my spares for a NOS Yankee Service Tail Light Door, Chances are slim but it's worth a look.

Well Gents, today I felt a bit like getting something accomplished. Earlier in the thread I had to build an adapter frame for the generator in the trailer. I made the side blocks a bit too big at the front. I did not have the Jerry Can holders to measure and figure out proper spacing. Today I made some 'adjustments' and installed the last two holders.

I cut one inch from these blocks so the holder would fit. I then sanded the faces down smooth and sprayed some paint.
Image

The problem was that the blocks prevented the holders from lining up with the stock holes in the floor. I wasn't about to drill new holes in either.
Image

This 'shorty can' is not a backyard modification. All the assembly seams are just like the tall ones behind it. I featured it in the Jerry Can section asking if anyone knew about ones like it, but no one had an answer. I will have it cleaned, painted and stenciled for Motor Oil.
Image

I haven't run the Gennie in almost 2 months, so it was time to warm Her up a bit.
Image

The Water can in front is a Monarch '42. I am very pleased to say that the genius who owned it before me, put used motor oil in it! That saved the bottom from being rotted out. The inner coating is coming away from the steel, so it too will be cleaned and have a new food safe coating applied.
Image

Total liquid compliment for the trailer will be: 18 Gals. of Gasoline, 5 Gallons Water, and 2.5 Gallons of Motor Oil. I am undecided right now whether or not I will fill them though.
Thanks for looking... :)

Hey Gents! A few photos more for the archives. My Trailer had two Port side tail lights installed when I bought it. Two weeks ago I was sloshing around on the internet and found a guy in the south who had 12 new in the box, old stock port side T. lights. Now he has only ten. Yesterday I cleaned all four up then primed and painted them. Here they are installed.

I had forgotten that Robin had made four tail light wire protectors for me, that is why they're not painted yet. Tomorrow they'll get tightened up. I'm thinking that I may want to put a radius on them outboard corners. They look as though they may invoke some serious foul language, in public, if encountered at just the correct time and angle  ...... :)

Yep! After looking more closely at these photos, they're getting a radius on 'em. They'll ruin a nice pair H.B.T. Trousers at precisely the wrong time!! :D Thanks for lookin'.............

That just reminded me I got a set from Robin at the meet. Nice photos of the install. I'll dig them out this weekend and try them on, I see what you mean about the sharp edge.

Hey Tim, these photos are for you if you haven't made a decision about trimming the tail light wire guards.

I cut them back just to where the radius on the tail light bracket begins. They will still cover the wire harness ends and I think they look okay too.

Here is one of my many Gerry Cans for the trailer. The rest are at the sandblaster and coming home tomorrow. This one is a Nesco 1941. It had been galvanized when it was made and is still in great shape, in and out. I used a 'galvie' friendly primer 1st., then Rustoleum Red Oxide over it. The Paint was mfg'd in 1983 and is Acrylic Laquer 34087. I'm gonna be sad when it's all gone. It sprays well, lays down great, and is as tough as nails when fully cured. It smells like soap too, a rather pleasant aroma if I do say so myself!!

6 June was a great day to work on W.W. 2 equipment. I spent a portion of my time thinking about the men who stormed the beaches of Normandy and thanked the Lord that I was alive and getting better. I primed and painted my Gerry Cans too.
Image

This is my favorite can. I wish I had 5 more just like it and in the same great shape in and out.
Image

After having them sandblasted, I checked the shorty can a little more closely. I thought it may have been a can that was cut down, but the seam along the bottom has been assembled just like the rest.
Image

And here they are, all nestled in their carriers.

Allot has been happening here at the PACNORWES MARCOR MO-T REPDEP this year. And it has been tough to say the least, especially when You're the only Man on Post. :) . I have been looking for some reflectors that were as close as I could get to the originals. The ones that came off this trailer were miss matched in that there were two Guide A-2's on the tail gate and two unknown types on either side. I finally found 4 in England that were very close. They are Guide A-2's but the lens is lacking a vertical line in it.
Robin had sent me a bunch of red lenses that were W.W. 2 issue and I polished them with Mothers Plastic Polish. They came back very nicely and look great in the sunshine. SO, THANKS A BUNCH ROBIN!!

All that is left is the Black Out Switch, Wire Harness and Chest #112 needs to be installed. After that a few last fiddly bits and She's finished.

Also check the embossed X in the side. It is exactly proportional to the size of the container and not off center as it would be if it was a cut down 5 gallon can. Gregg

I haven't looked at this thread in a long time. It is so easy to forget just how much effort is put into these implements of history. I can see that I have not included any new photos of the Gerry Cans installed with the hold-down straps. but for the time being, hopefully this video I made will fill the bill.

This post is to the gentleman who ran this post on the restoration of his trailer and racks. Awesome job! I’m getting started now with mine and was wondering if you have any information now that it’s 2022 on a hood source for original or repro hardware for the racks? Also would be interested if you have any drawings on the hardware that you used? Would be very helpful.
