While I was sanding Sunday I found this spot of yellow. Would this had been a "bridge Plate" weight marking? it is on the front right of the body.

Image

got her flipped over and started fabricating replacement patches for where the body was rusted through.

Here is a complete new corner

Lookin" Good! I don't think there are enough frame cross members, It needs at least 3 or 4 more...just kidding! Before too long you'll be able to haul some heavy stuff! Oh, your old electric grinder is pretty cool too, it looks about the same age as the trailer. Keep the pictures coming!

LOL thanks! I asked my dad about that grinder. He said that he can remember my grandfather had that thing in the 50's and he's pretty sure grandad got it second hand from someone else! i will say ive gone through about 5-6 hand held angle grinders the past 10 years but that thing keeps on rolling. they just dont make things like they used to!!!

The trailer is looking good. I enjoy following any restoration as it progresses. Keep it up!

well last night we let a cloud of olive drab fly out of the paint gun. i must say it looks good for a 67 year old trailerespecially with as much pitting that is in the metal.

Scuffed it down

Image

also did a few gerry cans while i had the paint out

Image

mixed 4:1 ratio with xylene

Looking Good!

These trailers were really built .. have recovered 4 of them this year and have been more than impressed with how well they have held up. Frames, tubs, axles, brakes, bearings etc .... just as good as the day they were manufactured in-spite of sitting in the elements for 60+ years.

Pulled my restored M10 behind my HT this year at the Touch A Truck event .. the wow factor was very cool.

and cleaning threads for new lugnuts

decided to stencil the #'s of my grandfathers unit from WW2 3rd Army 257th field artillery battalion

Your m10 looks great. I'm trying to find one that's complete and unrestored for a reasonable price but, so far the ones I've found are too far away when you add shipping costs, etc. Did you get your wiring harness from Vintage wiring of Maine? Thanks, for posting all the photos too, it was fun to watch the restoration process. I guess I'll have to be content to keep working on my halftrack for now. Good luck at the show. Neil
